WHO ARE WE
Unity for
our Community
At Unity for the Community, we empower people to live their best life by focusing on Trauma Informed Care.
Through our model people are given the environment and support to break the cycle of trauma and disadvantage in its many forms.

Who do we support?
Long Term
Mental Health
Many in our community suffer from serious
mental health issues that can cause them to
suffer repeated admissions to the hospital
or criminal justice systems. Our role is to
provide a stable environment built on
safety, respect and trust that helps to keep
them safe and break the cycle and live a
different life of their choosing.
Criminal Justice
Many people
who are incarcerated have
issues that are the result of trauma
throughout their life. Our role is to
provide a safe, stable environment that
they can have trust in. We recognise that
actions maybe adaptive and work with
them on their strengths.

OUR CORE VALUES
Providing an Environment
that promotes
Safety
Emotional as well as physical safety
throughout Unity for our Community and
can be felt by all people accessing
services and staff .
Be Trusted
Be able to be trusted and having
transparency is obvious throughout all our operations and decision-making processes.
Peer Support
Working with others to provide
self-help can help establish safety, hope and building trust
Collaboration
Is mutually evidenced by reducing
power levels among staff, people
accessing the service and their
supports. It is instilled that everyone has a role to play in providing suitable supports.
Empowerment
Voice and choice are reflected in
organisational operations and
workforce development. Services are organised to foster empowerment of staff and people accessing services. Individual strengths and experences are recognised and built on.
Respect for Diversity
Historical and gender issues are
incorporated into protocols and
processes that are responsive to the racial, ethnic and cultural needs of all people.
Why are
we different?
